Introduction

A paediatric medical practice in Bryanston, Johannesburg is seeking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for a professional, organised, and dependable individual who enjoys patient interaction while providing efficient administrative and personal assistant support within a busy specialist practice. The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice and delivering exceptional patient service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage the reception area, incoming calls, emails, and patient enquiries
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate the doctor's diary
  • Respond to WhatsApp and other patient communications promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate patient records and general practice filing
  • Scan, file, and distribute documentation as required
  • Perform general reception and administrative duties
  • Monitor and order office stationery and practice supplies
  • Provide administrative and personal assistant support to the doctor
  • Coordinate errands, collections, deliveries, and external appointments
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and practice documentation
  • Assist with diary management and administrative follow-ups
  • Support the efficient day-to-day operation of the practice

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Previous receptionist, administration, customer service, or personal assistant experience advantageous
  • Previous medical practice experience advantageous
  • GoodX experience advantageous
  • Computer literate with strong administrative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle essential
  • Willingness to run practice-related errands when required
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a specialist medical practice
