Introduction

An established specialist medical practice is seeking an experienced Medical Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative and patient support. The successful candidate will be professional, highly organised and patient-focused, with the ability to manage the administrative requirements of a busy specialist practice independently.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage patient appointments, scheduling and theatre bookings.
  • Coordinate consultations, surgeries and follow-up appointments.
  • Manage medical aid authorisations and billing submissions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and confidential medical information.
  • Handle patient enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Liaise with hospitals, referring doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Process patient payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with patient onboarding, consent forms and reception duties.
  • Manage office supplies and general administrative requirements.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day administrative operation of the practice.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 / Matric essential.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medical specialist or healthcare practice.
  • Previous experience with medical aid administration and billing.
  • Experience processing payments and patient consent forms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with practice management software.
  • Experience with medical aid billing systems.
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems.
  • Experience with document management and scanning software.
