Start free — we apply for you →Minimum Requirements:Matric /Grade12Millwright Trade Test, Mechatronics Diploma, or an equivalent technical qualification7 + years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment5 + years direct maintenance experience within a sewing manufacturing environmentStrong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsExperience working with PLC-controlled equipmentComputer literacy is essentialMain Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-related equipment failuresRespond to equipment breakdowns and restore operations safely and efficientlySupport production by minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment availabilityEscalate unresolved technical issues and coordinate with suppliers where necessaryPreventive Maintenance:Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedulesVerify the completion and effectiveness of preventive maintenance tasksIdentify potential equipment risks and implement preventive actions before failures occurMaintain accurate and timely maintenance recordsRoot Cause Analysis:Lead and participate in root cause investigations for significant equipment failuresApply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and A3Develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actionsShare lessons learned and best practices with the maintenance teamTechnical Improvement:Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, MTBF, and maintenance efficiencySupport equipment modifications, upgrades, and optimization projectsAssist with spare parts standardization and critical spare parts managementTraining & Team Development:Provide technical coaching and on-the-job training to maintenance techniciansAssist in developing troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance standardsPromote knowledge sharing and continuous skills developmentSupport supervisors in assessing technical competency and identifying training needsSafety & Compliance:Ensure full compliance with all health and safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) proceduresParticipate in safety inspections and risk assessmentsMaintain https://www.jobplacements.com/Jobs/M/Maintenance-Technician-1326888-Job-Search-09-10-2026-03-00-30-AM.asp?sid=gumtree
