Mechatronic Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering group specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of bulk materials handling and conveyor systems to the mining and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will work across mechanical, electrical and control disciplines, supporting the development and commissioning of automated conveyor and materials handling equipment. • Design, develop and integrate mechatronic systems for conveyor and materials handling equipment

• Specify and select instrumentation, sensors, drives, motors and control hardware

• Develop, test and troubleshoot PLC and control system programming

• Support automation and control upgrades on new and existing installations

• Work alongside mechanical, electrical and process teams to deliver integrated solutions

• Conduct FAT, site commissioning, fault-finding and performance optimisation

• Prepare technical documentation, functional specifications and test procedures

• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and product development

• Provide technical support to clients, site teams and suppliers

Experience & Qualifications

• BEng in Mechatronic Engineering (or Mechanical/Electrical with strong automation exposure)

• 3 – 8 years' experience in a mechatronic, automation or controls engineering role

• Exposure to conveyors, bulk materials handling, mining or heavy industrial equipment advantageous

• Working knowledge of PLCs, VSDs, instrumentation and industrial control systems

• Competence in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

• Willingness to travel to sites as required

• Valid driver's licence
