As a Mechatronic Engineer within our Automation and Improvement department, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency, productivity, and safety of our manufacturing processes. Working in a dynamic factory environment with various machines, your primary focus will be on driving industrial improvements, implementing automation solutions, and designing fixtures utilizing 3D CAD software. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancement and execute projects aimed at streamlining production processes. Improve efficiency and productivity of machines and processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating projects assigned.

• Determine projects to improve production capacity and save money by implementation.

• Costing of production.

• Implement time saving systems to improve costing of production.

• Design of new robotic and CNC fixtures.

• Testing and implementation of new fixtures.

• Quality assurance of all fixtures.

• Auditing of fixtures.

• Maintaining jig control system.

• Identifying appropriate times for jigs to be replaced.

• Improvement on current fixtures.

• Setup and process time reduction.

• Material handling.

• Program, software & technological improvements.

• Conduct Structure Analyses (FEA).

• Conduct major assignments in the Mechanical Engineering discipline.

• Prepare and present technical reports.

• Design and prepare drawing sets.

• Institute changes in methods, design or equipment as appropriate in the Engineering Disciplines.

• Prepare data for complex projects and make recommendations on alternative ways to resolve engineering problems.

• Improve designs to ensure non-failure.

• Ensure that the company adheres to all Engineering Standards

• Experimental testing, simulation and validation of critical features in structures.

• Improvement of the Computer Aided Engineering Process with emphasis on structures.

• Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Grade 12

National Diploma/Degree in Mechatronical Engineering

±2 years experience in Mechanical Design

±2 years experience as a Mechatronic Engineer

Experience in mechanical designs

3D and 2D design capability/experience

Computer Literacy in MS Office and Excel

Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices

Technical knowledge

Manufacturing process and sheet metal processing knowledge
