- Engage with customers to understand technical requirements, applications and operational challenges.
- Analyse customer specifications, RFQs and enquiries and develop appropriate technical solutions.
- Design and propose integrated mechatronic, electrical, mechanical and automation solutions .
- Select appropriate components, equipment and technologies based on application requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting documentation.
- Produce and interpret technical drawings, schematics, layouts and system documentation.
- Provide technical support to the sales team throughout the quotation and project lifecycle.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers.
- Assist customers with equipment selection, system configuration and application optimisation.
- Work closely with engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement and project teams to ensure solutions are technically and commercially viable.
- Support the development, testing, commissioning and implementation of solutions where required.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide engineering recommendations.
- Conduct site visits to assess applications, gather technical information and support customers.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements, system upgrades and additional applications.
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of relevant products, technologies and industry developments.
- Ensure all proposed solutions comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BEng/BSc/BTech/National Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- 25 years' relevant engineering or applications experience.
- Experience working with industrial automation, electro-mechanical systems or machine applications .
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Good understanding of sensors, actuators, motors, drives, PLCs and control systems.
- Experience with CAD software will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
