MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Job Description – Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical machinery and equipment. Inspect machines and identify mechanical faults, defects, and potential failures. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime. Carry out maintenance, repair, and replacement of bearings, gearboxes, shafts, belts, chains, pumps, valves, rollers, and other mechanical components . Assist in the installation, alignment, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment. Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is operating within required standards. Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and carry out effective repairs. Perform equipment lubrication and ensure proper lubrication schedules are maintained. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, spare parts, and equipment conditions. Work closely with Production and other Engineering teams to resolve equipment-related problems. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and company procedures . Identify opportunities to reduce equipment failures, maintenance costs, and energy consumption. Support the maintenance team during machine installation, shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Engineering Manager.
