Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Engineer to join the Maintenance and Engineering Management team at OR Tambo International Airport.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate reporting to the Manager Mechanical Maintenance will be responsible for:

Supporting the development of a strategy for infrastructure and asset management that is integrated, multidisciplined, and enables the long-term sustainability of the company's assets and infrastructure.
Translating organizational goals applicable to the area of responsibility as derived from a business plan into a clear direction, implementing effectively and efficiently, and ensuring that appropriate remedial actions are taken.
Developing/Adopting and entrenching Mechanical Engineering standards and frameworks for general infrastructure development.
Developing engineering briefs for mechanical initiatives.
Engaging in projects from conceptualization to implementation and commissioning.
Development and implementation of asset maintenance programs throughout the group.
Ensure compliance with relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOPs, operational standards, policies, and practices.
Ensure the maintenance contracts are aligned to ACSA requirements to comply with stakeholder and related legislative requirements to ensure continuous operations.
Management of consultants, contractors, and service providers through applicable conditions of contract.
Compile, manage and account for relevant budgets per business requirements and specifications.
Assist with the building of technical competence in the organization.
Manage maintenance CAPEX projects in line with set standards.
Reporting on budget variance.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

B Sc / B Eng Hons / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
6 years' Operational experience in Engineering and Contract Management is essential.
3 years' Stakeholder Management experience is essential.
1-year Operational experience in an airport environment is recommended.
Registration and membership of ECSA and SAIME recommended.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Code 8 driver's license.
