- Our client is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Consulting Engineer to join its Cape Town office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career mechanical engineer looking to build a career within the building services consulting industry, working on a diverse range of commercial, healthcare, retail, hospitality, and public infrastructure projects.
- The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, assisting with the design, specification, project management, and delivery of mechanical building services systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and design of mechanical building services systems.
- Design HVAC Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems.
- Assist with the design of Fire Protection and Wet Services systems.
- Conduct mechanical services audits and site assessments.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and reports.
- Assist with cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Support project management throughout all project phases.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant South African standards and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements
- BEng Mechanical Engineering
- BSc Mechanical Engineering
- BTech Mechanical Engineering
- 0–3 years' experience , preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong interest in Building Services Engineering.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
