This role is essential to the success of our engineering projects, with a strong focus on the design, modifications and stability analysis of customised and specialised platforms to support the integration of advanced lifting and loading equipment or systems.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Design of mechanical systems, components and sub-base and/or chassis platforms to support the integration of lifting and loading equipment or systems.
- Structural analysis by performing calculations and simulations to ensure integrity, stability, safety and compliance with applicable standards.
- Work closely with sales and production teams to modify or develop customised solutions tailored to client specifications, especially for attachments and crane applications.
- Provide technical support to production teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure the manufacturability of engineered products.
- Participate in prototype builds and product testing to validate performance and resolve issues.
- Identify and implement design improvements and modifications to increase efficiency, durability and cost effectiveness.
- Prepare engineering / technical drawings, bill of materials, manuals and installation guidelines.
- Ensure that all designs comply with the industry standards, safety regulations and internal quality assurance procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the material handling industry.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, material science and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis and calculation methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
