Mechanical Engineer

Introduction

This role is essential to the success of our engineering projects, with a strong focus on the design, modifications and stability analysis of customised and specialised platforms to support the integration of advanced lifting and loading equipment or systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Design of mechanical systems, components and sub-base and/or chassis platforms to support the integration of lifting and loading equipment or systems.

• Structural analysis by performing calculations and simulations to ensure integrity, stability, safety and compliance with applicable standards.

• Work closely with sales and production teams to modify or develop customised solutions tailored to client specifications, especially for attachments and crane applications.

• Provide technical support to production teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure the manufacturability of engineered products.

• Participate in prototype builds and product testing to validate performance and resolve issues.

• Identify and implement design improvements and modifications to increase efficiency, durability and cost effectiveness.

• Prepare engineering / technical drawings, bill of materials, manuals and installation guidelines.

• Ensure that all designs comply with the industry standards, safety regulations and internal quality assurance procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the material handling industry.

• Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or Inventor.

• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, material science and manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with engineering analysis and calculation methods.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Self-driven and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
