Our client is a fast-growing company in the space industry, specialising in the design, development and manufacturing of advanced RF communication systems for satellite applications. The company develops high-data-rate communication solutions, including antennas, transmitters and ground support equipment, and is currently in an exciting scale-up phase.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for satellite communication systems. • Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform structural (FEA), thermal and vibration analysis for demanding environments.
- Support environmental qualification testing, including vibration and thermal vacuum testing.
- Analyse test data and prepare detailed engineering reports.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to improve producibility, cost and product quality.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Provide technical support to cross-functional teams.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BEng, BSc Eng, MEng or MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Aerospace Engineering.
- 2+ years’ relevant mechanical design experience.
- Proven experience in mechanical CAD modelling and engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of structural (FEA) and/or thermal analysis.
- Experience with CAD and FEA tools such as SolidWorks, RhinoCAD, Solid Edge, ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Experience in aerospace, defence or other high-reliability industries is advantageous.
- Exposure to RF/antenna systems and environmental qualification testing is advantageous.
