Start free — we apply for you →- An established engineering and construction company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing project delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale mining, industrial, infrastructure and energy projects, managing the full construction lifecycle from planning through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Structural, Mechanical and Piping SMP construction activities across multiple projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs and technical documentation.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors and construction teams.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure work meets quality and engineering standards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues affecting project delivery.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Monitor productivity, resource utilisation and material requirements.
- Prepare project reports and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ requirements.
- Support commissioning, testing and final project handover.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in SMP construction within the mining, industrial, power or heavy engineering sectors.
- Sound knowledge of structural steel, mechanical equipment installation, piping systems and construction methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality control and construction standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/project management software.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites when required.
- ECSA registration Professional or Candidate will be advantageous.
