Key Responsibilities/ Hoofverantwoordelikhede

• Translate Process Engineers’ P&IDs into detailed mechanical drawings, including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, piping layouts, isometric drawings, fabrication details, and installation drawings.

• Act as the technical link between Process Engineers and the workshop build team / site installation teams.

• Serve as the engineering custodian during the build and installation phase to ensure that design intent, standards, and specifications are followed.

• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support procurement with technical specifications.

• Review and approve fabrication and installation work against engineering drawings.

• Identify and resolve design or build issues during workshop assembly and on-site installation.

• Work closely with Process Engineers, Project Managers, and the workshop team to deliver projects on time and to the required quality standard.

• Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and engineering documentation.

• Vertaal Prosesingenieurs se P&ID’s na gedetailleerde meganiese tekeninge, insluitend Algemene Rangskikking (GA) tekeninge, pypuitlegte, isometriese tekeninge, vervaardigingsbesonderhede en installasietekeninge.

• Tree op as die tegniese skakel tussen Prosesingenieurs en die werkswinkelbou-span / terreininstallasiespanne.

• Dien as die ingenieursbewaarder gedurende die bou- en installasiefase om te verseker dat die ontwerpdoel, standaarde en spesifikasies nagekom word.

• Stel akkurate Materiaallyste (BOMs) op en ondersteun verkryging met tegniese spesifikasies.

• Hersien en keur vervaardigings- en installasiewerk goed teenoor ingenieurstekeninge.

• Identifiseer en los ontwerp- of bouprobleme op tydens werkswinkelmontering en installasie op terrein.

• Werk nou saam met Prosesingenieurs, Projekbestuurders en die werkswinkelspan om projekte betyds en volgens die vereiste gehaltestandaard te lewer.

• Handhaaf tekenstandaarde, hersieningsbeheer en ingenieursdokumentasie.

Minimum Requirements / Minimum Vereistes

• Recognised Mechanical Draughtsman qualification or Mechanical Engineering qualification (BEng / BTech / National Diploma).

• 2 - 3 years relevant experience as a Mechanical Draughtsperson or Design Engineer.

• Strong experience in process plants, skid units, or packaged equipment environments.

• Proven ability to work from P&IDs and convert them into practical mechanical and fabrication drawings.

• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

• Good understanding of piping, pumps, valves, structural steel, and fabrication methods.

• Ability to work effectively with both engineering and workshop teams.

• Strong attention to detail and ownership of design integrity throughout the build process.

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to visit sites when required.

Advantageous

• A formal Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma.

• Previous experience in water treatment, process plants, or packaged equipment manufacturing.

• Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping codes, and skid/containerised plant design.

• Experience as a design-to-build coordinator or engineering custodian on projects.

• Ability to produce isometric drawings and detailed fabrication packages.

• Erkende kwalifikasie as Meganiese Tekenaar of Meganiese Ingenieurskwalifikasie (BIng / BTech / Nasionale Diploma).

• 2 - 3 jaar relevante ondervinding as ’n meganiese tekenaar of ontwerpingenieur.

• Sterk ondervinding in prosesaanlegte, skideenhede of verpakte toerustingomgewings.

• Bewese vermoë om vanaf P&ID’s te werk en dit om te skakel na praktiese meganiese- en vervaardigingstekeninge.

• Ondervinding met 2D- en/of 3D-CAD-sagteware (AutoCAD, SolidWorks of soortgelyk).

• Goeie begrip van pypwerk, pompe, kleppe, strukturele staal en vervaardigingsmetodes.

• Vermoë om doeltreffend saam met beide ingenieurs- en werkswinkelspanne te werk.

• Sterk aandag aan detail en verantwoordelikheid vir ontwerpintegriteit gedurende die bouproses.

• Geldige bestuurslisensie en bereidwilligheid om terreine te besoek wanneer benodig.

Voordelig

• ’n Formele Meganiese Ingenieursgraad of -diploma.

• Vorige ondervinding in waterbehandeling, prosesaanlegte of die vervaardiging van verpakte toerusting.

• Kennis van drukvate, pypkodevereistes en skid-/houer-aanlegontwerp.

• Ondervinding as ’n ontwerp-tot-bou koördineerder of ingenieursbewaarder op projekte.

• Vermoë om isometriese tekeninge en gedetailleerde vervaardigingspakkette op te stel.

Salary / Salaris

R30 000 - R45 000 p/m
