Our client, a well-established mechanical and electrical consulting engineering practice, is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Consulting Engineer to join their Cape Town team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-to-mid-level mechanical engineer to build a career in consulting, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial and public-sector building projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, design, audit, cost and specify mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and wet services
- Prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process for mechanical systems
- Provide project management support across the full project lifecycle
- Work across a varied range of building types, including offices, retail centres, hospitals, hotels, gyms, data centres, and other commercial and public buildings
- Liaise with architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors and clients as required
Desired Experience & Qualification
- B Eng (Mech), BSc Eng (Mech), or B Tech Eng (Mech)
- Prior exposure to consulting engineering is preferred but not essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with an interest in building services design
