Job Description

  • TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Marketer: Timber within the Timber division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Summary

  • This role involves managing timber marketing activities, supporting suppliers and agents, coordinating orders and deliveries, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining accurate pricing, ticketing, payment and compliance processes.
  • The role combines market development, operational coordination, supplier service, reporting and field-based engagement.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage and maintain supplier, landowner, contractor, market, mapping, compartment, and related operational information to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
  • Provide administrative and operational support
  • Administer and maintain Chain of Custody COC, Due Diligence System DDS, EUDR, and certification-related information, records, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
  • Compile, update, and manage supplier, contractor, market, and sub-agent agreements, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and current
  • Prepare and maintain supplier tracking reports, control lists, and other operational and compliance-related reports
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of supplier, contractor, and market records, including the collection and verification of all required documentation
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records, compiling required information, and assisting with audit preparation and follow-up actions
  • Manage CAR reports, training records, IMS updates, system-related changes, and other administrative processes supporting compliance and operational requirements
  • Capture and maintain meeting minutes, correspondence, and documentation, ensuring information is readily available to support business, marketing, and compliance activities
  • Manage timber pricing and price adjustments for corporate suppliers, farmers and agents, including approvals, signatures and system updates
  • Coordinate supplier tickets, ticket requests, allocation registers, weighbridge documentation and follow-up on outstanding tickets
  • Plan monthly volume requirements, distribute market orders, schedule deliveries and follow up daily to ensure orders are fulfilled
  • Grow local and export market opportunities while responding to additional market requirements and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Support suppliers, agents and farmers with enquiries, statements, remittances, payment queries, onboarding documents and walk-in assistance
  • Verify contractor deductions, cash-account statements and invoicing information; resolve discrepancies between suppliers and markets
  • Prepare monthly tracking, forecasting and operational reports, memos and management updates
  • Maintain supplier, contractor, transporter and loading-point information across registers and business systems, including AS400-related setup
  • Complete compliance administration and field verification, including EUDR, chain-of-custody records, polygons, farmer and agent site visits, and annual agent audits
  • Support standing-plantation activities, including enumerations, offers, stump-to-mill operations, safety meetings and audits
  • Liaise with all markets to ensure orders and quality is acceptable
  • Liaise with all Timber mills to ensure raw material delivery requirements are met
  • Be prepared to work after hours when necessary
  • Be prepared to work outdoors most of the day
  • Assist with Certification and COC implementation with suppliers

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or a related field
  • 3–5 years' relevant administrative/practical experience within a forestry, timber, agricultural, supply chain, compliance or related environment
  • Experience with pricing, delivery coordination, contractor deductions, invoicing and supplier payment processes
  • Knowledge of COC, certification processes, DDS, EUDR or related compliance systems advantageous
  • Sound understanding of administrative systems, reporting and record management
  • Strong spreadsheet, reporting and administrative skills
  • Experience with ERP or legacy business systems experience advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Team player with strong relationship-building skills
  • Bilingual Afrikaans and English advantageous
  • Trilingual Afrikaans, English & German advantageous
  • Valid driver's license Code 08
  • Willing to travel
  • Valid Passport advantageous
