Key Performance Areas

Job Requirements Project Planning & Initiation.

  • Support the definition of project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements
  • Coordinate feasibility studies, site assessments, and pre-project evaluations
  • Assist in business case preparation and project approval documentation
  • Establish project governance structures and communication plans
  • Develop project documentations e.g. BOM, QCP etc. and maintain Project File.
  • Request of quotations for material, Items and / or services.Placement of orders on the Necsa workflow system

Project Execution Coordination

  • Coordinate all project activities across engineering, production, procurement, and contractors
  • Ensure alignment of project execution with approved plans, scope, and budget
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and site coordination sessions
  • Track deliverables against project milestones and escalate deviations timeously
  • Manage project documentation and version control

Stakeholder Management.

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external suppliers/contractors
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders
  • Ensure clear alignment between engineering design, production requirements, and operational readiness
  • Coordinate approvals, sign-offs, and decision-making processes

Monitoring, Control & Reporting

  • Monitor project progress against scope, cost, quality, and schedule baselines
  • Maintain project dashboards, status reports, and KPI tracking systems
  • Identify risks, delays, and bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
  • Support project audits and compliance checks
  • Ensure adherence to project governance standards and procedures

Procurement & Resource Coordination

  • Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and services for projects
  • Track delivery timelines and supplier performance
  • Ensure availability of resources labour, equipment, contractors as per project plan
  • Liaise with supply chain to prevent delays and shortages

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all project activities comply with safety regulations and company standards
  • Support risk assessments and method statements for project execution
  • Coordinate quality inspections and acceptance testing
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, engineering, and manufacturing standards

Project Closure

  • Ensure successful handover of completed projects to operations/production teams
  • Verify completion of all outstanding deliverables and actions
  • Compile project close-out reports, lessons learned, and final documentation
  • Declaring invoices and IWO's for payment
  • Ensure financial and contractual project closure

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies in project execution and recommend improvements
  • Support implementation of project management best practices and tools
  • Contribute to standardisation of project coordination processes across manufacturing

Safety

  • Comply with Necsa's health and safety requirements and lead by example and attitude.
  • BBS observations and safety incidents.
  • Promote a Nuclear Safety Culture within AM
  • Attend Quality/Safety training / awareness sessions and on-the-job training as scheduled.

Performance Indicators KPIs

  • Percentage of projects delivered on time
  • Projects completed within approved budget
  • Adherence to project scope and change control discipline
  • Reduction in project delays and rework
  • Stakeholder satisfaction ratings
  • Successful commissioning and handover rate
  • Accuracy and timeliness of project reporting

Requirements

  • Key Knowledge & Skills:Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and document control requirements Knowledge of Necsa SHEQ requirements Knowledge of access requirements Systems knowledge's Solomono SharePoint Project register Necsa Information Control Understanding of financial processes, i.e. Procurement process, creditors, debtors, etc.:Knowledge of MS Office

Minimum Qualifications

  • Artisan machining/boiler making/welding/ Grade 12 with relevant trade seal Preferably Tertiary Technical OR
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR Diploma in Operations Management General computer literate to at least intermediate level Windows, MS Project, MS Word and Excel
  • Minimum Experience Minimum 3-5 Years in technical operations experience in Manufacturing or Fabrication activities
