Salary

  • R 737 415.00 – R 1 106 175.00

Requirements

  • Degree in Developmental Studies / Environmental Management or Equivalent Qualification.
  • Postgraduate degree will serve as an added advantage.
  • 6 years' work experience in community development.
  • Understanding of the SET strategy and programmes.
  • Understanding of Community Development Framework in line with government imperatives.
  • Understanding of SANParks Financial Reporting Framework.
  • Knowledge of good Corporate Governance practices.
  • Knowledge of SANParks Risk Framework.
  • Good knowledge of the conservation, tourism, and socio-economic development related legislation.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the SANParks wildlife economy strategy.
  • Develop related sops to guide the implementation.
  • Develop the implementation tools / templates etc.
  • Conduct initial farm assessments on communal and emerging game farmer's land.
  • Provide pre-application technical support to ensure readiness.
  • Coordinate shortlisting of eligible applicants.
  • Facilitate communication of the approved applications.
  • Support game delivery process.
  • Raise awareness on wildlife economy programmes.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagements.
  • Advise and facilitate provision of technical support.
  • Provision of technical skills.
  • Conduct market analysis and facilitate linkages as a value proposition to the farm.
  • Facilitation of cooperation amongst game farmers.
  • Identification of steward programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of MOUs, moas and SLAs.
  • Facilitate the implementation of SLAs.
  • Represent SANParks in strategic structures / committees.
  • Monitoring the implementation of SLAs.
