- B. Tech. / B Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent - NQF Level 7. Code B driving license. NQF level 7; Professional Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be an added advantage; Minimum of 3 years' experience at a supervisory level; Proficiency in MS Office applications; Excellent organizational and administrative skills; Excellent analytic and problem- solving ability; High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality; Have ability to give attention to detail and be able to work under pressure; Report writing; Communication Skills; Ability to deal with conflict situations; Excellent Negotiation skills.
Duties
- Plan and manage the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of municipal roads and stormwater infrastructure. / Manage traffic signage, road markings, trench reinstatements and stormwater drainage systems. / Develop and implement roads and stormwater maintenance programmes. / Manage staff performance and the section's capital and operational budgets. / Manage municipal infrastructure assets, construction plant, vehicles, equipment, materials, fuel usage and depot operations. / Monitor the condition, utilisation, maintenance, operating costs and recordkeeping of assets, plant and vehicles. / Review and approve roads and stormwater designs, drawings, specifications and cost estimates. / Assess building and town-planning applications for their impact on roads and stormwater infrastructure. / Review and process wayleave applications for work within municipal road reserves. / Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with technical, quality and safety requirements. / Manage projects, procurement processes, tenders, contracts, consultants and contractors. / Monitor project progress, expenditure, quality, contractor performance and contractual compliance. / Address technical disputes, contractual claims, non- compliance and service-delivery complaints. / Coordinate stakeholders and compile technical, operational and performance reports.
