Purpose

  • To provide strategic leadership and governance of the Quality Control function by designing, implementing, and sustaining robust quality systems that ensure all products consistently comply with quality requirements, and customer expectations; taking accountability for optimising inspection and testing frameworks, proactively preventing defects, managing quality risk, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product integrity, operational efficiency, and business performance across the manufacturing value chain.

Key Responsibilities not limited to

  • Develop, implement and maintain robust and effective quality control systems across all manufacturing processes to ensure quality requirements and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Drive the execution and maintenance of PFMEA, quality plans, control plans, inspection standards, and sampling plans to effectively manage process and product risks
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate quality-related risks within the manufacturing environment
  • Ensure inspection, testing, and measurement systems, including online and offline inspection systems, are capable, correctly set, and aligned to support effective
  • in-process and final product quality control.
  • Lead the management of non-conforming product, ensuring timely containment, investigation, disposition, and prevention of recurrence through effective corrective
  • Develop and implement systems for collection, analysis and use of quality data and performance metrics to support decision-making, continuous improvement, and achievement of organisational quality objectives.
  • Lead the team effectively by fostering a positive work environment, promoting collaboration, and ensuring high levels of employee engagement and
  • Drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing process by ensuring that root cause analysis is effectively conducted and appropriate corrective actions are implemented
  • Responsible for team talent acquisition and onboarding, performance management, team member development, workforce planning and succession planning, recognition and retention, appropriately resolving conflict and ensuring disciplinary and grievance matters are conducted in line with policy.

The Preferred Candidate is likely to have

  • Grade 12, BSc Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry or Equivalent
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification, Six Sigma Black Belt certificate
  • Total Quality Management certification
  • 7 years' experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment with at least three 3 years in a team leadership/supervisory role.

Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of FMEA methodology
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Engineering and Quality Planning principles
  • Broad understanding of ISO 9001 principles
  • Broad knowledge of ERP Systems SAP, JDE, etc
  • Well-developed knowledge of Six Sigma principles
  • Well-developed knowledge of quality improvement tools
  • Well-developed knowledge of gauge R&R methodology
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodology KepnerTregoe– highly desirable
