  • SALARY: R785 128.94 PER ANNUM TASK GRADE 16
  • B-Tech/B Degree in Urban/Town and Regional Planning/ or Construction and Project Management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Registration as a Professional Manner with the South African Council for Project & Construction Management Professions SACPCMP
  • 3-5 years' experience in human settlements planning and development.
  • Knowledge and experience of local government legislation or SATPLAN
  • Knowledge and experience of legislative and policy framework guiding human settlements in South Africa.
  • Knowledge and experience of spatial and land use planning.
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal, unalytical and organising skills.
  • Good management and leadership skills including stakeholder management.
  • Computer literacy MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Valid Code & Driver's licence.

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage all integrated and sustainable human settlements programmes and projects.
  • Develop, review and implement the human settlements sector plan.
  • Develop, review and implement Informal Settlements Upgrading Plans.
  • Profiling of informal settlements
  • Develop, review and implement Informal Settlements By-laws.
  • Implement mechanisms to prevent lund invusions within the municipality.
  • Develop, review and implement Housing Beneficiary Management Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and policy framework guiding human settlements.
  • Manage all the staff within Human Settlements Division.
  • Develop, review and implement Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan SDBIP of the Division. Collaborate with Town Manning Division und other divisions in human settlement planning
  • Compile reports on human settlements to various committees of council.
