Komatsu South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced  Manager: Group Operations Reporting  to join the Finance Division. This tactical leadership role is responsible for leading the Group Operations Reporting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, inventory analysis, operational performance reporting, financial governance, and continuous improvement of financial support processes across the business. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial insights, drive operational excellence, and support executive decision-making through high-quality reporting and analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function.
  • Review and analyse monthly financial results and reporting variances.
  • Support budget planning and execution across divisions and operational units.
  • Manage reporting compliance and provide technical financial guidance to stakeholders.
  • Review quarterly provisions and financial submissions from subsidiary operations.

Inventory Analysis and Job Costing

  • Manage the Job Costing function and related financial controls.
  • Analyse inventory performance, stock valuations, provisions, and operational costs.
  • Review inventory obsolescence, stock movements, and working capital performance.
  • Monitor RAMP contracts and provide financial recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Oversee WIP reporting and inventory control processes.
  • Manage the production of consolidated operational and financial reports.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Monitor financial risk areas, inventory performance, labour efficiencies, and reporting metrics.
  • Draft regular and ad hoc reports for executive management and Komatsu global reporting requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead ERP and SAP reporting enhancement initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements and reporting standardisation.
  • Collaborate with ICT, auditors, and external consultants to implement best practices.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and governance processes.
  • Support project implementation and performance monitoring activities.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Manage resource planning, performance management, and talent development.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, auditors, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • BCom Honours Degree in Accounting (Essential)
  • Completed SAICA Articles (Essential)
  • SAICA Associate General Accountant or CIMA qualification will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a tactical management role.

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word.
  • Advanced SAP proficiency.
  • Intermediate Business Intelligence (BI) Systems.
  • Intermediate BPC Systems.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, JSOX, VAT Act, Companies Act, National Credit Act, and other relevant governance frameworks.
