- Grade 12 plus a Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Information and Communication Technology or any related qualification at NQF level 7;
- Certified in Servers, Databases, and Networks;
- Computer literacy and computer-based qualifications;
- Minimum 5 years IT-related industry experience of which 2 years must be supervisory / management;
- Minimum 2 years in Data Centre Operations, Database Administration, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Client/Server Computing, Hosted Systems and Hardware Platforms.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Project Management / Project Implementation;
- Experience in Information Technology within the healthcare sector will be an added advantage;
- Valid driver's license.
Primary Function
- Support, manage and monitor the implementation of IT systems in Health that encompass the delivery of innovative eHealth Technologies using approved project management processes. Manage the day-to-day running of the IT systems all aspects of infrastructure in Health as it relates to the implementation of IT Systems; coordinate and facilitate IT-related training and change management. Maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, spheres of government, and service providers including the City's Departments.
Key Performance Areas
- Support and monitor the implementation of appropriate IT-related strategies, business plans, and Health strategic imperatives of the Municipality;
- Manage, monitor, and assist with the ongoing operational running of IT and other systems in Health, including innovative eHealth Technologies that encompass electronic information record systems;
- Contribute to planning, monitoring, and controlling the annual operating and capital budget so that spending is in line with the Municipal requirements and/or Municipal Finance Management Act;
- Perform general duties and render support to management;
- Promote accountability of employees and organisations in using resources and ensuring that implementation of objectives is met. Achieve required compliance by the management unit to the City PMS policy and other prescripts;
- Conduct research in the field of eHealth Infrastructure development and maintenance in order to determine trends and identify best practices within the discipline nationally and internationally.
