Maintenance Manager

Introduction

Unitrade 745 (Pty) Ltd is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager .

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.

• Carry out inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues.

• Check electrical and mechanical systems and buildings to insure functionality.

• Plan and oversee preventative maintenance as per schedules.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns throughout the plant.

• Plan and oversee repairs and new installation activities.

• Manage technical relationships and co ordinate contractors and service providers

• Plan daily, monthly and shutdown work for artisans and ensure all relevant spares are available.

• Monitor and control of spares inventory and place orders when necessary.

• Ensure all relevant documentation is filled out timeously and signed off. (Job cards, Timesheets, Requisitions)

• Monitor expense’s and control budget for maintenance.

• Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.

• Capture leave and absenteeism to be resolved according to company policies.

• Create succession plan for subordinates, train and develop them.

• Ensure safe working environment, housekeeping and 6s.

• Implement performance management according to KPI’s for subordinates.

• Conduct team meetings and address issues work related.

• Create reports and provide efficient communication to senior management.

• Utility consumption monitoring and improvement.

• Maintain IATF compliance relating to maintenance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric

• Technical Diploma or Mechanical Engineering Degree

• 10 year’s experience in a supervisory or similar managerial position

• Must be able to use CAD

• Must have worked on a lathe, milling machine, drill press, broaching machine & CNC machine (able to program it)

• Sound knowledge on PVC extrusion ; PLC’s; thermocouples; variable speed drives; reading of drawings; hydraulics; pneumatics; pumps; bearings, fault finding on electrical and mechanical circuits is essential.

• Knowledge of ISO 45000 & 14000

• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of South Africa is beneficial
