Quantum Foods has a career opportunity at the Breeder Operations in Gauteng for a Maintenance Manager. The position reports directly to the Senior Manager: Breeders & Hatcheries North and will be responsible for maintenance on Breeder Farms & Hatcheries in Gauteng. The position will be based in Brandvlei at the Eigendom Breeder Farm Facility. Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement reactive and preventative maintenance and optimize plant, vehicle, and equipment,
- Manage internal maintenance projects and control maintenance cost, equipment and spares inventory
- Ensure the workshop, personnel and contractors are managed efficiently
- Coordinate and oversee all work done by contractors
- Ensure occupational health and safety
- Dismantle, move, assemble, install & align equipment and machinery
- Attend to civil and domestic house repairs
- Construct foundations for machines
- Follow and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Set programmable logical circuits (PLC’s)
- Test, calibrate and document instruments such as flowmeters and scales
- Faultfinding and correction of process control equipment
- Train and mentor apprentices and assistants
- Fulfil internal and external audits on site
Desired Experience & Qualification
• Relevant technical trade • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience • Experience in Poultry Farming Operations is essential • Prepared to work standby, callouts, overtime and on weekends • Strong leadership skills • Computer literate • Reside within 30km radius from work At Quantum Foods we are committed to Employment Equity and offer a competitive salary package and benefits.
