- To manage maintenance activities and drive related strategies and developments during the post-warranty phase. Execute services engineering activities within the project and act as the primary liaison with the Product Development Engineering team Rolling Stock RS, ensuring effective management of Integrated Services Readiness ISR deliverables throughout the product development phase and Design for Quality DFQ cycle. Manage and implement maintenance changes during and after the warranty period.
Intergrated Services Readiness IRSEngineering
- Produce engineering documents including maintenance manuals, training materials, special tools, test benches, and spare parts in collaboration with cross-functional experts.
- Manage and implement Integrated Services Readiness ISR activities for Design for Quality DFQ and Design for Serviceability DFS on the subsystem.
- Coordinate with central functions and other departments to ensure integration and compliance with standards and best practices e.g., reference libraries, DFS.
- Gather, document and leverage Return of Experience REX findings to drive improvements in quality, cost, and delivery QCD for future projects.
- Define maintenance plans and design key elements of Logistics Support Analysis LSA, including Maintenance Task Analysis MTA, Life Cycle Cost LCC, Level of Repair Analysis LORA, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance RCM.
- Validate support solutions, including maintenance documentation and training toolkits.
- Support data within the central ISR repository ILS Product Data Management system.
- Manage and implement technical interfaces with the Rolling Stock team to ensure alignment.
- Define the Logistics Breakdown Structure LBS in alignment with the Design Engineering Bill of Materials BOM.
- Calculate life cycle cost LCC and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and materials for the agreed life cycle are valid and necessary.
- Maintain relationships with sourcing teams to address ISR requirement clauses related to procurement.
- Define and validate the accuracy of the LSA database ILS PDM.
- Validate the content and accuracy of technical maintenance documentation and training toolkits.
Maintenance Engineering
- Produce all work instructions WI, maintenance instructions MI, maintenance and safety bulletins to the required standard and present documents for approval.
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation including specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions, and technical reports.
- Lead the optimisation of the Maintenance Plan and LCC by incorporating service experience and operations feedback including:
- Justification of inspection periodicity.
- Specification of materials and tools.
- Arranging and / or performing validations of tasks.
- Conducting product / process audits of depot maintenance and casualty repairs in collaboration with the customer and quality team.
- Ensure alignment between the spare part consumption model and maintenance strategy. Identify and investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide assistance to the customer or company front office in diagnosing train defects when technicians require expert guidance.
- Review and update the Bill of Material BoM, and WI to incorporate continuous improvement.
- Review and update preventive, corrective and overhaul LCC assessments.
- Review and update all maintenance, reliability, overhaul and related documents to ensure documents remain up to date and valid.
- Develop and update training material, continually improving content
- Sustain Trainer qualification and accreditation in order to provide quality training services.
- Facilitate internal and external training.
- Continuously develop expertise in specialised field to guide and advise and support both internal and external stakeholders .
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical , Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 Years experience in Life Cycle Cost, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety RAMS experience. Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessments.
- 3 Years experience in the rail industry. advantageous
- 3 Years experience in a maintenance environment. advantageous
- Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer with ECSA. advantageous
Special Requirements
- Incumbent will be required to travel and work at different sites
