Start free — we apply for you →- 5* Game Lodge close to Hoedspruit is looking for a reliable, skilled and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join their team as soon as possible .
- The successful candidate will oversee the general upkeep, maintenance and repair of lodge facilities , ensuring guest areas, staff facilities and infrastructure meet 5* standards while minimising disruption to guests.
Duties
- Perform general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry and air-conditioning maintenance.
- Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain swimming pools, plant equipment and lodge infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, maintenance requests and urgent repairs.
- Identify potential maintenance issues and take corrective action.
- Assist with grounds maintenance and lodge improvement projects.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years' proven maintenance experience in a lodge or hotel environment, with lodge experience strongly preferred.
- Good all-round knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, building maintenance and general repairs.
- A valid driver's licence.
- Sober habits, reliability and a professional approach.
- Neat presentation and a friendly, considerate manner when interacting with guests.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and standby duties when required.
- Currently based in the Hoedspruit area or willing to relocate.
- A clear criminal record and contactable references.
