Start free — we apply for you →PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To provide reliable general maintenance support across allocated company facilities, including general repairs, basic electrical and plumbing work, painting and minor building repairs, asset and furniture maintenance, and the safe movement and setup of equipment and assets. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES General Facilities Maintenance Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential hazards. Perform general repairs to desks, chairs, doors, shelving, fixtures and other office infrastructure. Maintain clean, safe, functional and presentable work areas. Respond to logged maintenance requests and provide feedback on completed or outstanding work. Electrical, Plumbing & Building Repairs Perform basic electrical maintenance such as replacing lamps, tubes, plug points and minor components within approved safety limits. Identify electrical faults and escalate work requiring a suitably qualified/certified electrician. Perform basic plumbing repairs including leaks, blocked drains, taps, toilets and washbasins. Complete touch-up painting, patching and minor wall repairs; escalate major defects to management/service providers. Assets, Furniture & Relocations Inspect and perform minor repairs to company furniture and equipment and maintain repair records. Assist with internal/external movement, loading, transport and offloading of furniture, equipment and other assets. Ensure items are protected, secured and handled to prevent damage. Support office setups, reconfigurations, events and training requirements. Tools, Materials & Inventory Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in clean, safe and serviceable condition. Inspect tools for wear or damage and report repair/replacement requirements. Maintain adequate stocks of maintenance consumables and report shortages timeously. Maintain accurate records for tools issued, returned, repaired or replaced and follow authorised sign-out procedures. Health, Safety & Compliance Perform all work in accordance with company health and safety requirements and applicable procedures. Use appropriate PPE and safe work practices at all times. Immediately report hazards, damaged infrastructure, incidents and work outside the role's authorised scope. Assist with emergency maintenance situations and safety inspections as required. KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES Routine inspections and preventative maintenance completed according to schedule. Maintenance requests acknowledged and actioned within agreed service levels; urgent issues appropriately prioritised. Repairs are completed safely, correctly and to an acceptable standard, with minimal repeat call-outs or rework. Issues outside the role's scope are identified and escalated promptly. Maintenance records and asset repair information are accurate and kept up to date. No avoidable damage to company assets during maintenance, movement or setup activities. Tools and consumables are controlled, accounted for and available to support maintenance work. Health and safety requirements, PPE and reporting procedures are consistently followed.
