Start free — we apply for you →We are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor who is a hands-on leader with strong CNC machining expertise, production planning experience, and the ability to manage workshop operations while driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of approximately 10 machinists and apprentices.
- Perform machine setup and CNC programming using Mastercam.
- Plan daily production activities and machine loading schedules.
- Oversee CNC lathes, machining centres, and conventional/manual machines.
- Conduct quality control checks and first-off inspections.
- Manage tooling selection, utilization, and tool life optimization.
- Coordinate production scheduling to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Coordinate machine maintenance and downtime management.
- Train, mentor, and manage staff performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and OEE practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a machine shop supervisory or production leadership role.
- Strong CNC machining knowledge, including machine setup and Mastercam programming.
- Experience managing production schedules, quality control, and workshop operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
