Training and assisting operators and ensuring machines perform at full capacity. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Functions Performs various activities and procedures associated with co-ordinating planned and preventative maintenance tasks. Referring to schedules and a tasks list. Conducting inspections of all rotating equipment, bearings and shafts. Monitoring and recoding the condition of all motors, gearboxes, pulleys and couplings. Ensuring all rotating parts are properly guarded. Checking pulley tensions and rotation. Recording defects and any deviations from safety standards and procedures. All maintenance associated tasks. To ensure all machinery is maintained in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and complies with general safety regulations and company procedure. Fault Finding Troubleshooting Reading and interpreting instructions on the job cards. Ensuring the equipment is electrically isolated. Loosening the assembly to release the part. Stripping, repairing, overhauling, or replacing damaged or defective parts. Aligning chains, sprockets, couplings, etc and assembling and replacing cover plates and screws and testing the equipment. Assessing the nature of the problem and identifying and requisitioning spare components/parts. Recording all details of repairs on the job card. Machine Setter and Training Checking and setting devices and activating corrective measures if necessary. Observing readings on visual displays and initiating adjustments. Attending to and undertaking routine maintenance activities of all machinery. Reporting on condition and status of parts requiring replacement or repair. To set up a comprehensive maintenance plan for the plant and machinery. To carry out repairs on machinery in a manner that ensures full operational performance of that machine as well as compliance in terms of safety. Responsible for setting up machines for specific raw materials usage and the changeover of all machinery. Setting up of machines, with specific raw materials/roll stock - usage and to be responsible for that changeover for all relevant machinery. Be responsible for the initial change of different raw material and job changes. Set up of new jobs, ensure processing is efficient and in line with factory ORE standards, line feeder to assist with shift roll changes. Changeovers must be efficient and effective. Training of machine operators for them attending to basic repairs. Training of Machine operators must be conducted on a regular basis on all aspects of the machine. Communicating with and guiding machine operators on process sequences, removing and or replacing specific attachments and adjusting components to desired levels.
