- We are seeking an experienced Logistics Planner to join a dynamic supply chain environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating branch stock requirements, planning vehicle loads, and ensuring efficient logistics operations.
- The role requires strong logistics planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective stock management and customer service delivery.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a logistics or supply chain environment
- Experience within the chemical manufacturing industry essential
- Strong logistics planning and transport coordination experience
- Experience with stock management and inventory optimisation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with Sage ERP advantageous
- Experience with demand planning software advantageous
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate branch stock requirements and vehicle load planning
- Assess demand and plan trailer, tanker, and container loads
- Ensure efficient stockholding across branches by preventing overstocking and stock-outs
- Plan collections and deliveries according to operational requirements
- Prepare picking slips and dispatch documentation
- Coordinate load changes with warehouse teams
- Manage branch queries and provide customer backorder ETAs
- Ensure vehicles are loaded according to required deadlines
- Coordinate export order requirements with production and warehouse teams
- Liaise with procurement, production, supply chain, and other departments
- Manage return loads and optimise transport costs
- Monitor logistics performance and compile reports
- Support stock count activities
