  • Our client, a leading South African manufacturer of processed meat products supplying major retailers, wholesalers and food-service customers, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to manage end-to-end logistics across four factories. The role is responsible for warehousing, transport, distribution, inventory and cold-chain integrity, with a strong focus on service delivery and cost control.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 essential, Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations preferred
  • Proven logistics management experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or cold-chain distribution
  • Multi-site warehouse and transport management experience
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, transport planning and 3PL management
  • Working knowledge of food safety, traceability and cold-chain requirements
  • Strong Excel, ERP/WMS/TMS and reporting skills
  • Proven team management experience
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel
  • Meat or perishable goods experience advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound raw materials, inter-factory transfers, warehousing and outbound distribution across four factories
  • Plan and manage own-fleet and outsourced transport to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Ensure cold-chain compliance and product integrity throughout the distribution process
  • Oversee warehouse, dispatch, inventory accuracy, picking and loading operations
  • Manage 3PL and transport contracts, rates, service levels and claims
  • Work closely with Production, Procurement, Quality and Sales to align supply and customer requirements
  • Monitor logistics KPIs, costs, inventory and service levels and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead, develop and roster warehouse, dispatch and logistics teams across multiple sites
  • Implement and maintain SOPs covering receiving, storage, dispatch, returns and traceability
  • Identify opportunities to improve routing, capacity utilisation, backhauls and overall cost-to-serve
