Job Title: Logistics Coordinator Start Date: 2026-08-31 - 2026-09-28 Vacancy Type: Permanent SW006553 Sectors: Logistics, Warehouse & Freight Location: Western Cape , Somerset West Salary: (Market related, Negotiable) Brief: graduate|logistics|logistics coordinator|supply chain management My client, a well established fruit exporter based in Somerset West is seeking to employ a Logistics Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification or diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain and 3+ years' experience in a similar relevant position. Detail: The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Reporting to the Logistics Manager. Responsibilities: Coordinate all logistical processes from point of loading through to final shipping destination. Book and timely place supply chain services, based on best option in the market, correct protocols and client requirements. Maintain and distribute updated transport and shipping information for all stakeholders Ensure that dispatches are confirmed promptly and accurately to enable further processing and completion of export and local documentation Monitor vessel & container movements, provide reports to relevant stakeholders and find solutions to deviations. Identify operational risks early and implement practical solutions to minimise disruption to customer deliveries. Coordinate information flows with external service providers including cold stores and off-site storage solutions. Collect and supply accurate information for in-house export clearance. Customer Service – manage customer expectations, resolve queries and communicate regular shipment updates. Assist the Logistics Manager in investigating logistics claims, compiling supporting documentation and coordinating claim submissions with shipping lines, transporters and insurers. Assisting the Logistics Manager with capturing and reporting shipping costs. Requirements: Tertiary qualification or diploma in Logistics / Supply Chain 3+ Years' experience in a similar relevant position Professional written and verbal communication skills in English Strong working knowledge of MS Office, shipping portals, QX or other fresh produce ERP systems Additional industry experience in the export of perishable goods will be advantageous (DALLRD applications, PPECB, Phytosanitary processes, Q67's / Titan, Port Operations, Incoterms etc) Ability to analyse shipment trends, produce reports and identify shipping opportunities advantageous. show more...
