Responsibilities
- 24/7/365 Constant Monitoring: Perform live, active tracking of haulage trucks along designated geofenced routes from source collieries (e.g., Manungu) to Eskom power stations, sidings, or private clients using the TMS platform.
- Mandatory 3-Point Verification: Execute immediate manual checks for every autoallocated truck passing the mine weighbridge by cross-referencing:
- Fleet List: Verify the truck details match the approved "Free to Load" master list.
- Tracking Unit: Confirm the vehicle's GPS unit is online, live, and transmitting accurately.
- Load & Route: Ensure correct destination and product assignment before marking the vehicle as "Verified".
- Verification Failure Handling: Immediately flag non-compliant trucks (e.g., integrated tracking offline or missing documentation) on the TMS and escalate directly to the Operations Manager (OpsMan) to hold the truck from departing.
- Driver Behaviour & Conduct Auditing: Monitor driver actions via fleet cameras and system telemetry logs for critical infractions, including speeding (exceeding the strict threshold), mobile phone usage while driving, seatbelt non-compliance, and obscured or dirty cameras.
- Level 1 Incident & Exception Handling: Act as the first point of contact to capture and log breakdowns on the High Risk platform within fifteen (15) minutes, and strictly execute emergency protocol matrices for panic buttons or critical accidents.
- Comprehensive Shift Handover: Compile a detailed end-of-shift report covering the total scheduled load counts, active breakdown logs, and a non-conformance log of driver phone calls for formal review and sign-off by the incoming controller or OpsMan.

- Strict Rule Enforcements (7-Day Suspensions): Logistics Controllers have the system authority to block/suspend a truck or driver for non-compliance. Unauthorized route deviations, missing a geofence breach warning, or failing to answer control room calls must lead to an immediate 7-day suspension protocol, subject to immediate consultation with the OpsMan.
