ROLE IMPACT

The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting and optimizing supply chain operations, particularly within the bulk chemical trading sector. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of documentation, coordinating logistics, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role serves as a key link between supply chain planning, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations, timely deliveries, and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Documentation Management

Accurately prepare and manage all relevant shipping, customs, and inventory documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for bulk chemical transport.
Work closely with internal teams to process and manage purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, and delivery schedules.
Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with regulatory standards.

Logistics Coordination

Coordinate and track the movement of bulk chemicals to ensure timely delivery to customers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with transport providers and warehouses to oversee the loading, unloading, and storage of chemicals.
Proactively monitor shipments, addressing any delays or issues to minimize disruptions.

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for the sales team, providing regular updates on inventory levels, delivery timelines, and any potential supply issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and logistics partners to resolve operational challenges.
Provide actionable data and insights to cross-functional teams to support decision-making processes.

Inventory Support

Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels, ensuring timely stock replenishments and alignment with sales forecasts.
Implement inventory management strategies, including setting appropriate safety stock levels and prioritizing orders based on demand.

Continuous Improvement

Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in documentation handling, logistics operations, and communication across teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12
A diploma or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in logistics or supply chain roles, preferably within the bulk trading or chemicals industry.
