We are seeking a hands-on and highly organised Logistics Supervisor to oversee daily Johannesburg logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, trucks, trailers, loading activities and operational administration while ensuring efficient fleet utilisation and service delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily truck, driver and trailer movements.
- Ensure vehicles and drivers are assigned to the correct routes and loading points.
- Monitor fleet and trailer movements through tracking systems.
- Liaise with drivers, loading points, warehouses and internal departments.
- Coordinate loading, offloading and yard activities.
- Manage trailer allocations and utilisation within Johannesburg operations.
- Monitor and update trailer assignments on the transport management system to ensure accurate allocation of trailers to drivers and trucks.
- Capture and maintain operational data and completed trips.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs and follow-up actions.
- Manage operational administration and reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in transport, fleet, logistics, or operations supervision.
- Strong understanding of truck and trailer operations.
- Computer literate with the ability to work on logistics, fleet, or transport management systems.
- Ability to track and monitor trailer utilisation and allocate trailers accurately to vehicles and drivers.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- A Valid code 14 driver's licence will be advantageous.
