Job Title: Lodge Anchor Start Date: 2026-07-13 - 2026-08-13 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB003231 Sectors: Hospitality Location: Mpumalanga , Sabi Sands Salary: (Market related) Brief: Job Summary The Lodge Anchor is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by acting as the primary host and ensuring the smooth coordination of daily lodge operations. This role serves as the central point of communication between guests and all lodge departments, maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality while supporting front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, guiding, and administration. Key Duties and Responsibilities Guest Relations & Hosting Welcome guests upon arrival and conduct seamless check-ins and check-outs. Host guests throughout their stay, ensuring a personalised luxury experience. Escort guests around the lodge and provide information on lodge facilities and activities. Host breakfast, lunch, dinner, bush breakfasts, boma dinners and special events. Build strong guest relationships and anticipate guest needs. Handle guest requests, complaints and service recovery professionally. Conduct courtesy calls and follow up on guest satisfaction. Ensure all special occasions are celebrated to lodge standards. Front Office Administration Manage guest reservations, arrivals and departures. Prepare guest information packs and welcome documentation. Process guest accounts and billing accurately. Maintain daily reports, occupancy lists and movement sheets. Assist with concierge services and guest activity bookings. Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally. Maintain accurate guest profiles and preferences. Operational Coordination Liaise daily with housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance and guiding departments. Coordinate guest itineraries and activity schedules. Ensure rooms are prepared prior to guest arrivals. Conduct room inspections to maintain 5-star standards. Monitor service delivery across all departments. Assist with lodge operations during busy periods. Support departmental managers where required. Food & Beverage Host meal services. Ensure tables and dining venues are presented to luxury standards. Assist with wine service and beverage recommendations. Monitor food quality and guest satisfaction. Coordinate dietary requirements with the kitchen. Assist with private dining experiences and special functions. Housekeeping & Lodge Standards Conduct daily room and public area inspections. Ensure cleanliness and presentation throughout the lodge. Monitor housekeeping quality standards. Report maintenance issues promptly. Ensure guest amenities are consistently replenished. Maintain luxury presentation standards throughout the property. Stock Control & Administration Assist with stock control and inventory management. Monitor consumables and guest supplies. Assist with procurement and ordering. Maintain accurate stock records. Support budget control and cost management. Complete operational reports and administrative duties. Staff Support Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Support service standards through coaching and mentoring. Promote teamwork and effective communication. Lead by example in professionalism and guest service. Assist management with performance monitoring. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with lodge health and safety procedures. Maintain emergency preparedness. Ensure guest safety throughout the property. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations. Uphold company policies and standard operating procedures Detail: Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric). Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or Tourism (preferred).
