Job Description

Stefanutti Stocks Inland is seeking a Lining QA/QC Technician to ensure lining works comply with project specifications, industry standards and quality requirements.
The role involves inspections, testing, quality documentation and ensuring non-conformities are identified and resolved promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct quality inspections of surface preparation and lining application activities.
Verify material certifications, environmental conditions and surface profiles prior to application.
Monitor lining thickness, deployment and seaming using appropriate inspection tools.
Identify, record and follow up on non-conformances and defects through to resolution.
Complete and maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, checklists and test records.
Ensure compliance with technical specifications, procedures and applicable SANS and ASTM standards.
Liaise with project engineers, site supervisors and client representatives regarding quality requirements.
Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all safety, health and environmental requirements are adhered to during inspections and testing.

Strong Knowledge of lining systems and surface preparation methods
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Proficiency in using inspection equipment, incl. tensiometers, spark testers, vacuum boxes and pressure gauge
Knowledge of relevant industry standards incl. SANS 10409 & applicable ASTM standards
Excellent attention to detail and observation skills
Strong reporting and documentation skills

Minimum 3-5 years experience in QA/QC roles withing lining, coating or protective systems in industrial marine, mining or oil & gas sectors
Knowledge of HSE requirements related to coating and lining works
