- An NQF level 7 legal qualification / LLB Degree as recognised by SAQA. At least 2 years' appropriate post qualification legal experience.
- Knowledge of South African Legal System, Legal practices and related spheres within specific reference to civil litigation and the Law of Contract. Knowledge of the Constitution, 1996, The Institution of Legal proceedings against certain organs of State Act, 2002, The Prescription Act, 1969, The State Attorney Act, 1957, The Public Finance Management Act, The Treasury Regulations, and the State Liability Act, 1957.
- Skills and Competencies: Legal research and drafting; Dispute resolution; Case flow management; Computer literacy; Planning and decision-making skills; Interpersonal relations; Communication skills written and verbal.
DUTIES
- Conduct research that will provide information and case law relevant to the legal matter at hand.
- Draft legal opinions on departmental matters.
- Facilitate the implementation of legislation.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of legislation.
