Duties/Pligte

  • Undertaking teaching, learning and assessment activities in undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules. This includes, but is not limited to, curriculum and pedagogical development and improvement, and development of digital learning materials.
  • Participating in postgraduate supervision activities and contributing to postgraduate supervision under guidance where appropriate, in accountancy and related research fields.
  • Engaging in research and publishing academic work in accountancy and related research fields in reputable popular, academic and peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participating in community interaction/social impact initiatives, including involvement in SAICA's Thuthuka project if required.
  • Participating in academic administration and internal and/or external service-rendering activities.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • An appropriate SAICA-accredited honours degree in accounting, or a postgraduate diploma in accounting in the Chartered Accountancy stream.
  • Registration as a Chartered Accountant South Africa, or eligibility to register.
  • Academic excellence, evidenced by a full academic transcript, and/or proven academic research experience, such as a master's degree in an accountancy subject area, a PhD, or publications in DHET-approved journals.
  • The ability to teach and function in a large multilingual work environment.
  • A commitment to student success, innovative teaching and curriculum renewal and education innovation.
  • Digital literacy and the ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to research.
  • A commitment to social impact/community involvement, including SAICA's Thuthuka project.
  • The ability to undertake departmental administration.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

  • Knowledge and/or working experience with SAICA's CA of the Future Competency Framework, prior teaching experience, and experience in technology-enabled teaching and learning.
