- To teach/lecture allocated modules and engage with students based on module-specific requirements and approved module pacers. The incumbent will prepare students for assessments, monitor student engagement and academic performance, identify and support at-risk students, provide general student administrative support, and contribute to the development of assessments in collaboration with the Central Academic Team.
- The incumbent will also assist the Programme Manager in tracking and analysing academic results to evaluate module performance and identify at-risk modules.
- In addition to the core lecturing responsibilities, the incumbent will undertake additional Qualification Coordinator responsibilities for the Public Administration and Office Administration qualifications. The incumbent will work closely with the Programme Manager to support effective academic and operational coordination of the qualifications, including the coordination and academic support of Part-Time Lecturers, monitoring academic delivery, student performance and qualification-level matters
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and engage students in accordance with module-specific requirements and approved module pacers.
- Prepare students for assessments, provide academic support, and identify and support at-risk students.
- Monitor student engagement, assessment participation and academic performance, with appropriate escalation where required.
- Develop and design Teaching-Learning materials and assessments in accordance with institutional and Central Academic Team requirements.
- Update the Learning Management System and provide timely feedback to students.
- Analyse module results and assist the Programme Manager in identifying at-risk modules and implementing appropriate academic interventions.
- Support student registration, orientation and other student-success initiatives as required.
- Work closely with the Programme Manager in the academic and operational coordination of the Public Administration and Office Administration qualifications.
- Coordinate and provide academic support to Part-Time Lecturers within the qualifications, including communicating faculty requirements, academic processes and relevant deadlines.
- Monitor module delivery and adherence to approved module pacers, academic requirements and institutional processes.
- Serve as a key academic point of contact for lecturers and students on qualification-related matters.
- Identify and escalate qualification-level academic, student, lecturer and operational matters to the Programme Manager.
- Support qualification-level academic meetings, planning, reporting and review processes.
- Attend and participate in relevant academic meetings and institutional activities.
- Conduct scholarly disciplinary-based or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning SoTL research, or complete required academic professional development interventions in accordance with institutional requirements.
- Perform other reasonable academic and qualification coordination duties as required.
Minimum requirements
- Honours or master's degree in Public Administration.
- Master's qualification will be advantageous.
- 2–3 years' lecturing or formal tutoring experience.
- Experience in academic coordination, qualification coordination, programme administration or lecturer coordination will be advantageous.
- 1–3 years' industry-specific experience in the relevant area of specialisation will be advantageous.
- Experience within a higher education environment will be advantageous.

- Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
Working Hours
- Classes are scheduled between 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday.
