Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following
- The facilitation of learning, teaching and assessment activities in undergraduate modules in the Digital Acumen Stream and/or Leadership Acumen Stream, including contributing to curriculum and pedagogical development and improvement.
- Participating in the development and implementation of digital and online learning activities and assessments, including the development of simulations and other authentic learning activities.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of curricula in response to developments in technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability and the accountancy profession.
- Participating in postgraduate supervision activities and, where appropriate, contributing to postgraduate supervision under guidance in Accountancy and related research fields.
- Engaging in research and publishing academic work in Accountancy and related research fields in reputable popular, academic and peer-reviewed journals.
- Participating in community interaction/social impact initiatives, including involvement in the SAICA's Thuthuka project, if required.
- Participating in academic administration and internal and/or external service-rendering activities.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma NQF 8 in a field relevant to the Digital Acumen and/or Leadership Acumen subject areas.
- Academic excellence, evidenced by a full academic transcript, and/or proven academic research experience master's degree in a relevant field, or a PhD, or publications in DHET-approved journals.
- Demonstrated digital literacy and the ability to use and critically evaluate digital technologies relevant to accounting education and professional practice.
- The ability to teach and function effectively in a large, multilingual teaching and learning environment.
- A commitment to student success, innovative teaching, curriculum renewal and education innovation.
- A commitment to research and continued academic development.
- A commitment to social impact and community involvement, including participation in SAICA's Thuthuka project.
- The ability to work effectively in a team.
- The ability to undertake academic administration and related service activities.
Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Registration or eligibility for registration with a relevant professional body.
- Previous instructional design, curriculum development and/or module development experience in higher education.
- Practical experience in one or more areas relevant to the Digital Acumen Stream, such as advanced spreadsheet modelling, data analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, accounting information systems, ERP systems, or other emerging digital technologies.
- Practical experience in one or more areas relevant to the Leadership Acumen Stream, such as business ethics, corporate sustainability, integrated reporting, professional judgement and/or related areas.
