Location: Durban, with travel as required
- Are you an experienced commercial property professional with a passion for negotiating high-value lease agreements that support business growth?
- We are looking for an experienced Leasing Manager to negotiate and manage commercial lease agreements for new and existing sites, securing commercially favourable lease terms while protecting the Group's interests across its property portfolio.
- This role goes beyond negotiating leases—it focuses on building strong landlord relationships, optimising occupancy costs, managing lease renewals and ensuring effective governance across a growing property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate commercial lease agreements with landlords, developers, shopping centres and property funds for new sites.
- Manage lease renewals, extensions, relocations and portfolio optimisation to minimise commercial risk.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, brokers and property management companies.
- Maintain an accurate lease register and ensure compliance with all lease obligations, critical dates and governance requirements.
- Partner with Real Estate, Development, Finance, Legal, Operations and Franchise teams to support the successful delivery of property and expansion projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Property Studies, Real Estate, Law, Commerce, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience in commercial property leasing within retail, QSR, hospitality or a multi-site business.
- Proven experience negotiating commercial leases with major landlords, developers and property funds.
- Strong understanding of retail lease structures, rental models, escalations, tenant installation allowances and beneficial occupation.
- Excellent commercial negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
