Introduction

The Learning Practitioner is responsible for identifying learning and development needs, developing and delivering learning interventions, and facilitating training and assessments for the workforce, including 18.1 and 18.2 learners .

The role ensures that learning programmes are aligned with applicable legislation, business requirements, Sasol learning frameworks, policies and the Energy Business learning strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct learning and competency gap analyses and recommend appropriate gap-closing interventions.
  • Assess learner profiles and determine suitable learning methodologies and interventions.
  • Design, develop, revise and maintain learning materials and structured learning plans.
  • Facilitate learning interventions using appropriate methodologies.
  • Guide learners in the practical application of skills within the workplace.
  • Conduct assessments and oversee assessment processes in accordance with qualification and legislative requirements.
  • Moderate assessments where required and ensure compliance with applicable assessor and moderator regulations.
  • Evaluate learning interventions and monitor knowledge transfer, performance improvement and competency development.
  • Develop and maintain individual learning plans aligned with 70:20:10 principles .
  • Monitor learner progress against agreed learning plans and implement remedial actions where required.
  • Support line managers and subject matter experts in identifying competency gaps and developing gap-closing strategies.
  • Maintain learning metrics, dashboards and programme reports.
  • Investigate deviations from learning plans and implement corrective actions.
  • Confirm successful completion of learning interventions and submit required reports.
  • Act as assessor/moderator for 18.1 and 18.2 learners in Secunda and Sasolburg , with travel required.
  • Provide general supervision and support to learners, including time and attendance administration.
  • Support disciplinary processes where required.
  • Order learning-related materials from stores using applicable SAP transactions .

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Formal Qualification

  • Occupational Trade Qualification
  • Millwright Trade Certificate – Mandatory
  • Generic Assessor Certificate – Mandatory
  • Generic Moderator Certificate – Mandatory

Advantageous Qualifications

  • ODETDP Certificate
  • MQA Accredited Assessor
  • MQA/NAMB Accredited Moderator

EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years' relevant experience as an Artisan
  • 4+ years' relevant learning/training experience
  • Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator experience/certification
