- The Learning Designer reports to the L&D Design Lead. You design simple and engaging learning solutions that help the Unifi community thrive. Working closely with teams, subject matter experts and learning facilitators, your blended learning programmes will improve performance, support behaviour change and help our people grow so Unifi can continue to win.
Responsibilities
- Partner with teams across Unifi to understand business challenges, performance gaps and recommend practical learning solutions
- Work closely with subject matter experts to understand their expertise, identify knowledge and process gaps, and turn this into practical, easy to apply learning experience
- Develop training needs analyses and identify real knowledge, skill or behaviours people need to succeed in their roles
- Apply instructional design and adult learning principles to translate business and learner needs into effective learning experiences and support Unifi's mission
- Design practical learning experiences that bring together the right mix of learning materials, activities, formative and summative assessments and performance support tools for different audiences
- Create learning material that is aligned with Unifi's design and learner experience standards
- Work with facilitators to ensure learning materials are easy to deliver, fit for purpose
- Keeping learning content accurate, practical and up to date by working closely with stakeholders, continuously improving material as things change
- Stay curious about new learning approaches, technologies and trends, continuously looking for better ways to help people learn
- Help build a culture where learning is simple, useful, and energising, helping Unifi remain a place to thrive and perform with excellence

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
- 5-7 years' experience designing learning for operational environments such as client service, call centres or back-office teams
- Strong understanding of instructional design, adult learning principles and blended learning approaches
- Experience in conducting learning needs analyses and translating business requirements into practical learning solutions
- Proven experience working with stakeholders to extract organisational knowledge and processes to inform training curricula and content
- Proven experience developing high-quality learning content, including facilitator guides, learner guides, e-learning, assessments and performance support resources
- Experience designing learning for in-person, virtual and self-paced digital environments
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems LMSs and digital authoring tools
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with a talent for making complex information simple
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and stay close to the business
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, changing priorities where learning content evolves continuously
- Curious, creative and always looking for simpler, better ways to help people learn
- Has a passion for Africa and a desire to help people grow and perform at their best
- Willing and able to travel across Africa
