Are you a creative instructional design professional with a passion for building engaging learning experiences? Join our Learning & Development team as a Learning Designer in Stellenbosch , where you'll design and develop effective learning solutions and materials that address real organisational needs.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on turning complex information into clear, learner centric content and enjoys partnering with subject matter experts to bring training to life.

What you'll do

  • Partner with subject matter experts and the wider learning team to identify training needs and define clear learning objectives
  • Conduct needs assessments and audience analyses to tailor training solutions to organisational requirements
  • Design curricula, programmes and learning solutions aligned to strategic goals
  • Develop instructional materials including eLearning modules, animated videos, job aids, simulations and assessments
  • Apply instructional design models and adult learning principles to create engaging, learner centric content
  • Create detailed storyboards outlining visual, interactive and narrative elements
  • Deliver training across digital platforms including Learning Management Systems and virtual learning
  • Administer learning content through the LMS, ensuring accurate delivery and tracking of training initiatives
  • Design course assessments that measure learner progress and training effectiveness
  • Evaluate training impact through feedback, analytics and performance metrics, using insights to refine content
  • Maintain and update training materials to reflect evolving technologies and industry best practices
  • Collaborate cross functionally with trainers, subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure successful rollout of training initiatives

What you'll need

  • A bachelor's degree in Education, PGCE, Instructional Design, Learning Design or a related qualification
  • 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Learning Designer or in a similar role
  • Experience working in an operational environment in a Learning Design role
  • Additional certifications in Instructional Design, video animation, editing or eLearning Development are advantageous
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise
  • Skilled in using Learning Management Systems such as Moodle, Talent LMS, eFront or Docebo
  • Ability to use graphic design or multimedia tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro or Vyond
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for content generation, and voiceover tools such as ElevenLabs, is advantageous
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with a focus on plain language and instructional clarity
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to design for diverse learners
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is advantageous
