Lead Engineer

Our client is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to take ownership of technical delivery while helping shape and grow the engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong technical leader who enjoys coding as much as leading people, with the potential to progress into a broader engineering leadership or CTO role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team, supporting its continued growth.

• Remain hands-on with software development and technical delivery.

• Contribute to architecture, technical decision-making and engineering standards.

• Work closely with leadership and other stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

• Drive best practices across development, testing, deployment and code quality.

• Provide technical guidance while remaining actively involved in the codebase.

• Help build a high-performing engineering culture.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Lead Engineer, Engineering Lead or similar hands-on technical leadership role.

• Strong development experience with Flutter and Python .

• Demonstrated ability to balance technical delivery with team leadership.

• Experience developing applications, preferably within the healthcare sector.

• Previous experience working with or developing healthcare-related applications is highly advantageous.

• AI experience would be advantageous.

• Strong communication, problem-solving and mentoring skills.

• A genuine player-coach mindset with a willingness to remain hands-on technically.
