We are looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer i s responsible for leading the electrical, control systems, and instrumentation engineering function on mining, minerals processing, and infrastructure projects. This role is based in Johannesburg .
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the EC&I engineering discipline on EPCM/EPCM mining and processing projects.
- Develop and review electrical, control, and instrumentation design deliverables.
- Manage discipline engineering teams and coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with project, client, industry, and statutory requirements.
- Review and approve single-line diagrams, load lists, motor lists, control philosophies, instrument indexes, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
- Support procurement by evaluating vendor bids and reviewing supplier documentation.
- Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations for the EC&I discipline.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications & Skills Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional registration (PR Eng/ECSA) preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering.
- Significant experience in mining, minerals processing, EPCM, or heavy industrial projects.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Knowledge of IEC, SANS, IEEE, and relevant international standards.
- Experience with MV/LV power distribution, PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control.
