Job Title: Lead Designer / Lead Draughtsman Start Date: 2026-08-13 - 2026-09-12 Vacancy Type: Temp JHB002879 Sectors: Engineering Location: Gauteng , JHB - Central Salary: (Market related) Brief: draughtsman|lead draughtsman|mining|petrochemical|revit Lead Designer / Lead Draughtsman to join our engineering team delivering complex EPCM mining, manufacturing, and fabrication projects . The successful candidate will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary design activities, overseeing 3D plant modelling, coordinating design reviews, and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables across brownfield and greenfield projects. This role requires a strong background in process plant design within the mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors , together with advanced 3D modelling and plant layout experience. Detail: Key Responsibilities Lead the development and coordination of 3D plant models and detailed design deliverables. Produce and review equipment layouts, and generate accurate 3D models, general arrangements, and detailed fabrication drawings. Coordinate interdisciplinary design reviews with Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) teams to identify and resolve clashes before construction. To Lead constructability and model review sessions to optimise plant routing and improve site installation efficiency. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and Draughtsperson within the team. Liaise with EPCM teams, project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients throughout project execution. Required Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 8-10 years' experience in plant design and drafting within EPCM projects. Proven track record delivering brownfield and greenfield process plant projects . Experience across the mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, and processing industries. Demonstrated leadership experience managing design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project deliverables.
