Darling Romery is a dairy processing plant that handles the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of fresh milk, fruit juices, and dairy-related products, located in Darling, Western Cape. We invite applications for the role of Laboratory Manager within the Quality department. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement are encouraged to apply.
Duties & Responsibilities
▪Management of staff
▪Coordination of laboratory administration and microbiology
▪Product testing and management of non-conformances
▪Quality assurance and food safety compliance
▪Purchasing within the department
▪Maintenance of laboratory equipment
▪Management of raw milk intake and related duties
Desired Experience & Qualification
▪Any BSc degree or diploma applicable to a laboratory function (e.g. BSc Microbiology, BSc Food Science, B.Tech Food Technology)
▪Excellent planning, organising and management skills
▪Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
▪Good communication and negotiation skills; able to work with people and within a team
▪Ability to function effectively within a management team
▪Computer literacy: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, X3
▪Proactive approach to the execution of duties and planning
▪Neatness, accuracy and cost awareness within the workplace
▪Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
