The In-House Sales & Key Account Manager is responsible for managing the In-House
Sales function and allocated key accounts, with a strong focus on customer listings, order
processes, reporting, data analysis and customer service.
The position acts as the key link between Buying, Sales and the Customer, ensuring that
products agreed with customers are correctly listed, available for ordering, supported
with the correct stock, and monitored through sales and stock reporting
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Account Management
- Manage allocated national and strategic customers.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, category teams and relevant customer
contacts.
- Understand and manage each customer's processes and requirements.
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities or risks.
- Coordinate customer meetings, range reviews, quotations, samples and follow-up
actions.
- Identify opportunities for additional listings, distribution and sales growth.
Product Listings & Customer Portals
This is a key focus area of the role.
- Manage new product listings and customer submissions.
- Ensure stock codes, barcodes, descriptions, pricing, pack sizes, images and other
listing information are accurate.
- Maintain listing trackers and follow up outstanding approvals.
- Ensure approved listings are correctly activated on customer systems.
- Confirm that listed products can actually be ordered into stores.
- Identify products that are listed but not ordering and investigate why.
- Manage amendments, price changes and delistings.
- Work confidently across retailer portals and ordering systems.
Sales Reporting & Data Analysis
A significant portion of this role involves working with large sales, stock and customer
datasets.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Analyse sales by customer, SKU, category, store/region and promotion.
- Monitor sales against budget, forecast and previous periods.
- Analyse customer stock-on-hand where available.
- Identify sales trends, distribution gaps, stock shortages and opportunities.
- Highlight underperforming or non-ordering listings.
- Prepare clear management and customer reporting.
- Translate data into practical actions for Buying and Sales.
Strong Excel proficiency is essential and will be practically tested during the recruitment
process.

. Buying, Sales & Customer Coordination
The position is the central link between Buying → Customer → Sales.
- Communicate customer requirements to Buying.
- Ensure Buying provides the correct information for customer submissions and
listings.
- Communicate approved listings, promotions and customer decisions to Sales.
- Highlight future stock requirements and potential shortages.
- Follow up store-level distribution and ordering issues.
- Ensure internal and customer actions are completed within agreed deadlines.
- Escalate risks before they affect the customer.
Range Reviews, Promotions & New Stores
- Assist with customer range reviews and new product proposals.
- Analyse current range performance.
- Coordinate samples, pricing and product information.
- Follow approved products through to successful listing.
- Coordinate promotional submissions and stock requirements.
- Monitor promotional performance.
- Coordinate new-store opening requirements and orders.
- Ensure relevant information is communicated to the Field Sales team.
Stock, Forecasting & Commercial Administration
- Monitor stock availability against customer requirements.
- Assist with customer forecasts and promotional requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Relevant Internal Sales, Key Account, Sales Operations or retail supplier
experience.
- Strong customer-service and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent administrative and organisational ability
